Is micropigmentation right for you?

Scalp micropigmentation (or SMP) inserts natural pigments under the skin of your scalp to create the appearance of natural hair growth or thicker hair. Its flexibility and natural appearance make it a great choice for many types of hair loss or thinning hair.

The treatment can recreate your hairline, or make existing hair appear thicker. Refreshing your image like this is a great self-confidence booster, as well as giving you a more youthful look.

You could benefit from hair tattooing if you’ve experienced hair loss due to:

  • Age
  • Diet
  • Cancer treatment
  • Weight loss

Or any number of other causes.

What is scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micropigmentation (or SMP) is a cosmetic tattoo procedure, also sometimes called hair tattooing. This hair loss solution works by replicating the appearance of hair follicles beneath the skin, as if they are about to grow. This gives you the look of a close-shave, or simply adds density and texture to existing hair for both men and women.

Tattooing the scalp in this way is a real game changer. You can feel better about how you look, feel better in yourself, and it can contribute to a more youthful appearance too.

Micropigmentation can be used to cover small areas of hair loss or hair transplant scars, fill in patches of thinning hair, or cover the entire scalp, making it a flexible procedure. Because of its flexibility, it’s a great option for anyone concerned about any type of hair loss.

What scalp micropigmentation could do for you

Every one of our clients is different, and how we perform your treatment at Hair Ink will always be unique to you. Here’s a look at some of the more common solutions we offer at our Newcastle site to give you an idea of just how flexible scalp micropigmentation can be.

Scar camouflage
Any scar on the scalp is made even more prominent by the lack of hair growing in the area. Our scar camouflage treatment uses hair tattooing to blend the scar naturally to the rest of your scalp, reducing its prominence. This procedure is also a great way to cover any scarring from hair transplant procedures.

Hairline restructure
Reshaping the hairline with scalp micropigmentation can help battle a receding hairline and reframe your face for a more youthful look.

Thinning hair
Getting thicker hair is a goal of men and women of all ages, for many reasons. Scalp micropigmentation can be used to fill gaps in the scalp, making it a great solution for thinning hair.

Standard procedure
The standard hair tattoo procedure covers most or all of the scalp where hair is missing to create the illusion of a close shave, combatting hair loss and refreshing your look.

Standard procedure with scar camouflage
Adding scar camouflage micropigmentation to our standard procedure is a great way to combine the benefits of the two! Get the appearance of hair follicles, and make your scars less obvious all in one.

Alopecia camouflage
Scalp micropigmentation can also be used to disguise hair loss due to alopecia. It makes no difference to the procedure at all! Get the same realistic appearance of hair follicles on the scalp for a confidence boost.
